A law firm seeks a licensed attorney residing in Ohio to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of substantive legal experience and hold additional licensure in one or more of the following states: Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia. We are looking for an energetic, independent, and collaborative professional who embodies creativity and determination in their legal practice.

Duties:

  • Manage cases independently from initial filing through resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies aimed at achieving favorable outcomes based on comprehensive case evaluations and ongoing investigations.
  • Engage in substantive communication with courts, administrative offices, financial institutions, and clients.
  • Draft a range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.
  • Represent clients at hearings and trials as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Active license to practice law in Ohio, with additional licenses in the specified states preferred.
  • Prior experience in one or more of these areas is preferred: Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate and estate claims, and guardianships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Current membership in the Ohio State Bar, with additional licensure preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.
  • High levels of energy, discipline, and self-motivation to thrive in a home office.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Persistent, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Confidence to take initiative and maintain accountability for case outcomes.
  • Proficiency in technology, including familiarity with Mac systems, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and timekeeping software.
