Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Workers' Compensation Defense to join their team in California. This role offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional travel to court as needed. The successful candidate will provide expert legal counsel, represent clients in workers' compensation claims, and ensure clients receive entitled compensation and benefits.

Duties

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including filing petitions and negotiating settlements.
  • Manage all aspects of cases from consultation to resolution, coordinating with medical professionals.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve fair settlements.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with laws.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on their rights and the claims process.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediation, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to update on case progress.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation law or related field.
  • Certification in workers' compensation law is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
