Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level labor and employment associate with two to four years of experience to join its team in Portland, OR. The associate will handle a diverse range of cases for regional and national companies, providing comprehensive legal services and support.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive and discovery motions.
  • Manage written discovery and take and defend depositions.
  • Counsel employers on hiring, discipline, accommodations, and compliance.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and reporting.
  • Support corporate transactions with employment due diligence.
  • Contribute to client trainings on various employment topics.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 2-4 years of labor and employment experience at a reputable firm.
  • Experience with employment litigation and counseling on employment laws.
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client-service orientation and professional communication skills.
  • Engagement in business development and professional organizations.
  • Admission to and good standing with the Oregon bar or eligibility to waive in.
