Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its Intellectual Property Practice Group. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal solutions in trademark, copyright, and entertainment-related litigation, collaborating with clients to navigate complex legal challenges.

Location

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and memoranda for court proceedings.

  • Manage complex discovery processes.

  • Communicate effectively with opposing counsel.

  • Conduct and defend depositions.

  • Prepare and present oral arguments in hearings.

  • Develop trial strategies and manage trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidence management.

  • Draft appellate briefs as needed.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in trademark, copyright, and entertainment litigation and counseling.

  • Proven experience in drafting and responding to pleadings, motions, and discovery.

  • Ability to lead and manage litigation strategy.

  • Trial experience is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.

The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work, and overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850.
