A law firm in Chapel Hill is seeking a dedicated Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will assist clients in evaluating potential risks, making tough legal decisions, and being involved in all phases of complex litigation, particularly in areas of complex litigation and business bankruptcy. Candidates must demonstrate strong writing and communication skills, along with a genuine interest in the firm's mission. This position requires admission to the North Carolina Bar or eligibility for admission in a short period.

 

Duties:

  • Assist clients in evaluating potential legal risks and making informed decisions.
  • Participate in all phases of complex litigation, including case analysis, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appellate work.
  • Work in areas of complex litigation and business bankruptcy, providing legal counsel and representation to clients.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar, or eligibility for admission in a short period.
  • 1-2 years of legal experience.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in the mission of the firm.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
