Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate attorney with three to seven years of experience in employment law and litigation to join their Labor and Employment Practice in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience counseling clients on employment-related decisions and developing compliant employment policies. They should also be adept at handling discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as managing DOL audits and EEOC charges.

Duties

  • Counsel clients on employment-related decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain compliant employment policies and procedures.
  • Handle claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Manage DOL audits and EEOC charges, including investigations and position statements.
  • Represent clients in mediations, conciliations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Engage in employment litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Three to seven years of employment law experience.
  • Experience with higher education or public-sector clients preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
