Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to join its team in Portland, OR. The successful candidate will support the firm's employment law practice, bringing expertise in federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft employment law-related documents.
  • Participate in litigation, including motion drafting, discovery, and oral arguments.
  • Manage BOLI and EEOC charges and investigations.
  • Review employee handbooks and policies.
  • Train and mentor junior associates.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of employment law experience.
  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
  • Litigation experience, preferably as a second chair.
  • Admission to the Oregon or Washington State Bar; dual admission preferred.
  • Interest in labor law is advantageous.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Oregon or Washington, with eligibility for reciprocity.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and client service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
