Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Louisville, KY. This role offers the opportunity to gain litigation experience and contribute to a team dedicated to helping individuals through personal injury cases. Duties

  • Assist clients in resolving legal conflicts and determining the best course of action.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare for hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Organize and maintain accurate files for attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
  • Draft and argue motions in litigation files.
  • Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft and edit legal documents, including briefs and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients and staff to efficiently resolve cases.
  • Negotiate cases with defense attorneys and insurance companies.
  • Manage pre-litigation files and participate in jury trials as needed.
  • Engage in appellate and deposition practice as required.
  • Develop trial strategy and case development with lead attorney.
  • Optional marketing activities, including networking and social media engagement.

Requirements

  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Passed the Kentucky bar exam or scheduled to take it.
