Washington, D.C. office of our client seeks lateral attorney with 2-5 years of electric utility experience. The candidate should have experience in transactional, regulatory or other noteworthy experience in the electric utility industry, with preference given to familiarity with rural electric G&T cooperatives. Must preferably have some energy transactional and utility project finance experience, such as drafting of asset purchase or power supply agreements, or knowledge of utility asset financing and credit facilities generally. Prior experience interacting with the Rural Utilities Service Electric Program (RUS), the National Rural Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC), or CoBank would be a major plus. Also preferably have some experience, understanding or involvement in one or more of the following: Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), ratemaking and tariff issues, energy markets, regional transmission organizations, state utility commissions, energy storage issues, federal environmental regulations, and/or rural broadband.
