This is one of our favorite firms. Founded on the intellectual and academic foundations of the law, this firm has a casual open door policy where lawyers are just as likely to be debating the constitutionality of a local statute and discussing the weather. Prominent lecturers and professors in the community, this firm's partners are truly excited about the practice of law, and instill that same feeling throughout the firm. With beautiful open offices, this firm's tries to be as progressive as possible when it comes to lawyers' lives (and remain profitable). Associates say that partners are truly accommodating in terms of hours and assignments, which is not to say that the lawyers here don't work hard. But, when a partner takes the time to tell an associate about a project well enough in advance to allow the associate to budget their time, the office environment can substantially improve. And so it is in this full service practice, where we believe some of the most exciting work is being done in the intellectual property arena.3 2018-10-17 03:04:24

Must have a strong academic background and excellent writing and communication skills.
Dare we say that this mid-sized Boston firm is fun? But truthfully, it is. A full service firm with modest but comfortable offices has some of the most interesting attorneys around. With impressive achievement both inside and outside of the office, these attorneys excel at young ages. For instance, one young lawyer is taking a leadership role in a Boston CLE program. Another is heading a prominent and fun community program. And, importantly, both are valued by the leadership of the firm for their contributions. Interesting clientele have followed, including notable sports teams and Fortune 500s. We believe the best practice areas are bankruptcy and creditor's rights and construction, which will continue to be busy over the next several months and years.3 2018-02-01 18:13:28

This large Boston firm has a surprisingly good government and regulatory practice, with the added bonus that their attorneys do not have to split their work with Washington DC lawyers in the same practice. This is a firm made up of well-rounded but most certainly well-pedigreed attorneys who come off unusually polished and professional. Associates here are generally quite satisfied, if not a little put off by what at times can be a bit of a competitive environment, both inside and outside the office. The strengths are that associates generally know whether they are 'on track' to make partner, and work in an environment that is designed with the appropriate mentoring and support staff to help associate development and training along.5 2018-09-10 18:37:04

Although this firm bills itself out as full service, it is in fact a well-diversified technology boutique. This medium-sized office is happy to handle corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, and technology transactions, but generally only for clients who originally came to the firm for the 'pure' intellectual property practice--patent prosecution, litigation, and trademark work. With more non-specialists than most intellectual property firms, the environment here is much more entrepreneurial and business minded than some practices we've seen. And, despite an institutional mentoring program, associates here are trained with early responsibility and the need for each attorney to work on large client files, regardless of that attorney's practice area. Good salary and down to earth partners have kept associates here since the days of their summer clerkship--a pretty remarkable feat.2 2018-04-25 00:01:11
