Patent Prosecution and Litigation Associate - Electrical Engineering and Software

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Associate in Boston, MA, to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group on the Electrical Engineering and Software Team.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Engage in litigation related to patent matters.
• Collaborate with team members on complex legal issues.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on patent-related matters.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of IP experience in drafting and patent prosecution.
• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.
• Experience with AI/machine learning, software design, semiconductors, and medical devices is a plus.
• Licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in the state of Massachusetts.
• Member of the USPTO.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Massachusetts or eligibility for admission.
• USPTO registration.
