Q&A DESCRIPTION
Question:
You have mentioned that it's good to write articles to show expertise on topics. You also have a website to publish articles. I only have a firm bio on my law firm's website, where I could post articles for people to find. Do people have their own websites outside of their law firm's website?
Answer:
Sure, you can have your own website outside of a law firm's website, and you can publish your own articles there. You can publish as many as you want, and in those articles, you can simply mention the firm you're at. I'll tell you that writing articles can be a really smart thing. I had something happen once where I had a very serious legal problem, with several million dollars at issue. I couldn’t find anyone with expertise in this area, so I searched online and found only one lawyer in Northern California who had written a short article on this topic. I called him, and he was the first person I wanted to hire. So, having articles on different topics that clients may be seeking information about is very important.
