Okay, so someone asked about patent prosecution. So there are a couple of different issues with patent prosecution. Typically, new patents will be less active, but existing patents will be. Firms will often have a lot of existing work, and because there's so much investment in that, it just doesn't stop.
There are different types of patent-related work, so there. Biotech, some things require an ES and mechanical, but for the most part, most patent work. I don't notice a considerable slowdown in patent work during recessions; if anything, a lot of the work done by large firms often will go to smaller firms. So there's always a lot of work in smaller firms.
