So what you have to think about you have to look at things from the employer's point of view.

The idea would be for a grinder job. Law firms are asking, can you do the job? Will you do the job long term? So if you've had a lot of business generation or leadership history and you're suddenly trying to apply for a grinder job, law firms will know that you will probably want to do something other than that. So they're going to try to avoid hiring you.

If I had a job for someone just to sit down and work, and all the people talked about their leadership ability and how they've done all this, I would run for the hills because I know they wouldn't do the work. Now, I might have another job for that person, but for the most part, I would know I need a specific type of person.

So you typically will want a resume that will talk about that, especially for a mid-level job. Depending on the law firm you're applying to, they may want you to look like you can generate business or that you're starting to generate.
