Your writing sample should show your best work. So, your best work should be your most recent work, hopefully.
I always recommend your most recent work. Other people did edit the writing sample. It depends on how it was edited. You have to use your own judgment. When a law firm asks for a writing sample, they want to see, or either an experience, if you do send something that someone else has edited, it just depends.
You have to use your own, judgment on that. I would recommend doing something that you only edited and doing that so that's, the right thing to do. Most people would probably turn in something that other people looked at.
I think that what they're trying to see is, how careful you are, how good your stuff looks, and so forth. And it's wrong to have someone edit your college application. I certainly probably would have been better off if I have someone edit my essays and so forth when I was in college and law school and so forth. So you just have to use your judgment.
