Job Overview:
A Fresno-based law firm is currently seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with a robust trial background to join its legal team. This role involves taking the lead in complex trial matters, shaping litigation strategies, and advocating for clients in high-stakes disputes. The ideal candidate brings a successful track record in the courtroom and maintains a solid portfolio of client relationships.

Duties:

• Represent clients during trials, motion hearings, and other formal legal proceedings

• Design and execute litigation and trial strategies tailored to each case

• Draft and submit legal pleadings, motions, and related court documents

• Oversee all phases of discovery, including depositions and interrogatories

• Deliver clear legal counsel and updates to clients throughout litigation

• Conduct direct and cross-examinations of witnesses

• Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements where appropriate

• Maintain awareness of legal trends, precedents, and changes to procedural rules

• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of active litigation and trial experience

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage trials, from jury selection to verdict

• Established book of business valued at $600,000 or more

• Admittance to the California State Bar in good standing

• Proficiency in trial-level advocacy, including evidence handling and objection practice

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• An active California Bar license is required
