Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with two to four years of experience to join its Litigation and White-Collar practice in Charlotte, NC. This role offers the opportunity to engage in a variety of matters, including criminal and civil litigation, internal and congressional investigations, regulatory enforcement, and corporate compliance.

Duties

  • Assist with preparation for witness interviews, client depositions, and witness testimony.
  • Respond to document requests, discovery requests, and manage document collection and review projects.
  • Analyze strategic case issues and prepare necessary written materials.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft and respond to discovery and dispositive motions, jury instructions, and other motions.
  • Support corporate compliance projects and due diligence.
  • Interact regularly with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years' experience in Litigation and White Collar, including internal investigations and enforcement.
  • Outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently.
  • Proactive work style with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with sophisticated clients.
  • Understanding of the business of law.
  • Membership in the State Bar of the office location or ability to become admitted promptly.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • State Bar membership.

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
