Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Property Damage Attorney to join their team in Dallas, TX. This remote, full-time position requires a candidate residing in Texas, preferably in the Dallas area. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with partners and administrative staff to serve clients diligently. Strong research, writing, and communication skills are essential.

Duties

  • Advise clients on options for successful outcomes and plan courses of action.
  • Identify client conflicts and develop case strategies with resolution options.
  • Perform research and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks.
  • Manage a caseload of first-party property insurance claims from inception to resolution.
  • Provide case updates and legal advice to clients.
  • Prepare and present case evaluations and legal recommendations.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance companies.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • 4-5 years of recent property litigation experience, preferably first-party plaintiff.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with proficiency in Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Familiarity with case management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple files independently.
  • Based in Dallas, Texas (preferred).
  • Ability to travel throughout Texas for court events as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills

  • Strong research and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools like Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently.
