Litigation Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in St. Joseph, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have experience in family law and/or commercial litigation and will join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional legal services. Duties

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support proceedings.
• Handle commercial litigation cases, such as contract disputes and shareholder conflicts.
• Prepare for and represent clients in trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
• Conduct depositions and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys.
• Maintain communication with clients and provide tailored legal counsel.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Admitted to practice law in Michigan.
• Experience in family law and/or commercial litigation.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong client service orientation.
• Proficient in legal practice management systems.
