Job Title: Briefing Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established plaintiff-side law firm located in Dallas, TX, is expanding its litigation support team and seeks a skilled Legal Writing Associate to support its trial attorneys with high-level legal research, motion drafting, and procedural strategy. This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and prefers a strong emphasis on written advocacy and analytical precision over courtroom presence.

Duties:

  • Draft complex legal documents, including pretrial and trial motions

  • Prepare memoranda on substantive legal issues across various stages of litigation

  • Respond to motions for summary judgment and draft Daubert motions

  • Support appellate briefing and legal strategy development

  • Conduct legal research using online databases and traditional sources

  • Collaborate with litigators to refine arguments and case strategy

  • Review and edit pleadings for clarity, legal sufficiency, and accuracy

  • Analyze procedural rules and evidentiary issues for pending cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of post-bar legal experience with emphasis on litigation support

  • Strong command of procedural rules and legal writing conventions

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments

  • Effective communicator with the capacity to collaborate across teams

  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, high-volume practice setting

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Eligible for admission in Texas (required if not currently licensed there)

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and analytical thinking

  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
