Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Tax Associate for its Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in complex federal transactional tax matters. Candidates in Austin, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis, or Washington, D.C. are strongly preferred.

Duties

  • Advise on business entity formations, mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
  • Provide guidance on state and local tax matters, including income, franchise, sales, and use tax.
  • Collaborate with non-profit and for-profit clients on tax-related issues.

Requirements

  • Active bar license in the corresponding state or commitment to obtain one promptly.
  • Experience in federal transactional tax matters.
  • Preferred experience with state and local tax advisory.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
