Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Fort Lauderdale-based law firm is actively seeking a litigation associate to join its expanding legal team. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in transportation and trucking litigation or general insurance defense. The position supports hybrid work arrangements, offering a mix of in-office and remote flexibility. Duties:

• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including court appearances and administrative hearings

• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery, and other legal documentation

• Provide strategic legal advice to clients regarding ongoing and prospective matters

• Conduct fact-finding investigations, analyze liability and damages, and assess case value

• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution efforts

• Maintain timely and comprehensive client reporting on case progress and key developments

• Ensure compliance with legal procedures, ethical obligations, and applicable court rules

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:

  • Insurance defense litigation

  • Trucking or transportation-related litigation

  • Litigation within the state of New York (as an added asset)

• Strong litigation capabilities, particularly in motion practice and case development

• Familiarity with case management tools and legal research platforms

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar admission in Florida - Mandatory

• Admission to the New York Bar - Preferred

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated initiative and sound professional judgment

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed

Job Location:

• Fort Lauderdale, Florida

• Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
