Family Law Attorney I

A nationally expanding law firm is hiring a Family Law Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Location:

• Scottsdale, AZ

Duties:

• Handle family law cases from intake through resolution, including mediation and litigation

• Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence

• Represent clients in consultations, hearings, and trials

• Participate in business development through networking, branding, and marketing activities

• Perform discovery including handling electronically stored information and hard copy review

• Provide counsel on matters involving contracts, agreements, and family-related transactions

• Close consultations with a target rate of 30–50%, depending on the practice area

• Update case management system with accurate billing, trust entries, and engagement information

• Approve invoices timely and manage financial aspects of caseload

• Collaborate with support staff and share workload when necessary

• Maintain regular communication with clients and promote positive feedback

• Attend two business development or community networking events per quarter

• Meet an annual billing target of approximately 1,500 hours with a collections goal of 1,400 hours

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing family law

• Proven legal writing and research skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage a client caseload independently

• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills

• Willingness to participate in networking and firm-related promotional efforts

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing in the state of practice

• Eligible for reciprocal admission, if not currently licensed in the state

Skills:
