Job Overview:
A well-established consumer bankruptcy law firm based in Maryland is seeking a full-time Attorney to join its busy practice. This role offers a blend of in-office and flexible remote work options, with opportunities for advancement and competitive compensation. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer bankruptcy law, be a self-starter, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to assisting individuals in financial distress.

Location:

  • Pikesville, MD

Duties:

  • Draft contracts, motions, briefs, and other legal filings

  • Conduct legal research and stay current with relevant bankruptcy law developments

  • Represent clients at hearings and court proceedings

  • Provide strategic legal counsel in collaboration with senior attorneys

  • Negotiate on behalf of clients to resolve financial issues

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interactions and case files

  • Supervise paralegals and administrative support staff

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Active member of the Maryland Bar

  • Strong knowledge of consumer bankruptcy law (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13)

  • Familiarity with BestCase software preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-based environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland

Skills:

  • Legal writing and document preparation

  • Courtroom and negotiation skills
