Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its office in Cleveland, Ohio. The firm provides comprehensive civil litigation and creditors' rights services across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The successful candidate will manage a full caseload under senior attorney supervision, ensuring compliance with all legal standards and regulations.

Duties

  • Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, contracts, and real estate instruments.
  • Research and draft legal memoranda, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Appear and argue in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative bodies.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on case strategies and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct discovery and prepare for legal proceedings.
  • Monitor case files and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Participate in strategy development and case preparation.
  • Assign and review work of department staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of legal codes, procedures, and consumer protection statutes.
  • Ability to interpret legal principles and develop client relationships.
  • Valid state license to practice law in Ohio.
  • Adherence to professional conduct and ethical standards.

Education

  • Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.)

Certifications

  • State license to practice law in Ohio
