Job Overview:

A civil litigation law firm based in Weatherford, TX is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in complex civil litigation. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in both Texas and California and ready to take ownership of cases from initial filing through resolution or trial. Location:

  • Weatherford, TX

Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and contribute to strategic planning for cases

  • Draft pleadings, motions (including summary judgment), and other litigation documents

  • Represent clients in depositions, mediations, court hearings, and trial proceedings

  • Take and defend depositions of both lay and expert witnesses

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and litigation teams on complex matters

  • Oversee and manage case timelines, discovery, and filings

  • Participate in direct client communications and maintain case status updates

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil litigation

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar

  • Licensed or eligible for admission in California (preferred)

  • Proven experience handling full litigation cycles, including depositions and dispositive motions

  • Trial experience as first or second chair preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and independently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar license (required)

  • California Bar license (strongly preferred or willing to obtain)
