Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its dynamic civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in civil litigation, with a proven ability to manage cases through all phases of litigation. Trial experience is highly preferred. This position offers an opportunity to work in a busy and diverse practice, assuming primary responsibility for some matters and supporting senior attorneys on others. Duties:

  • Manage civil litigation matters from inception to trial, including legal research, drafting motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Represent clients in court, including depositions, hearings, and trials (trial experience preferred).
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, ensuring high levels of service and communication.
  • Support senior attorneys on complex matters and take on primary responsibility for less complex cases.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy, settlement discussions, and legal argument development.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain high-quality legal work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong track record of managing cases through all stages of litigation.
  • Trial experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with limited supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and legal research abilities.
  • Client-focused with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a litigation team.
  • Active Oregon Bar membership (or ability to become admitted in Oregon).

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar required.
