Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a skilled Labor & Employment Associate to join its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience handling a wide range of labor and employment matters, including wage & hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and employment agreements. This role offers the opportunity to work with clients across diverse industries and gain exposure to both individual and class action litigation.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, California

Duties:

  • Represent employers in wage and hour compliance matters, including class action and PAGA cases.
  • Handle employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, and personnel policy issues.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
  • Advise clients on compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Take ownership of cases and provide strategic guidance throughout the litigation process.
  • Assist in dispute resolution, including mediation, settlement negotiations, and trials.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Experience in wage & hour class action and PAGA cases is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and cases with attention to detail.
  • Desire to take ownership of work and career development.
  • Experience in advising clients on a range of employment-related matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Class rank and transcript required with submission.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar (in good standing).

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to take initiative and handle challenging legal issues independently.
  • Effective in managing client relationships and case workload.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in case management.
