Job Overview:
A law firm located in Rockville, MD is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Bankruptcy practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume legal environment. While prior bankruptcy law experience is not required, the ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage a heavy caseload, meet deadlines, and produce accurate work under pressure. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

• Review bankruptcy pleadings and claims for filing within the appropriate jurisdiction.

• Manage routine bankruptcy cases from start to finish.

• Monitor electronic bankruptcy filings (ECFs).

• Attend bankruptcy hearings regularly.

• Communicate consistently with clients, opposing counsel, and Trustees.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong proficiency with office technology and computer software.

• Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active Virginia or Maryland Bar license.

Certifications:

• Must hold an active Bar membership in either Virginia or Maryland.
