Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its Illinois office. This hybrid role focuses on representing financial institutions in residential foreclosure, bankruptcy, and replevin matters. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of legal experience, a strong interest in creditors’ rights, and a commitment to delivering responsive, detail-oriented legal service. Location:

  • Bannockburn, IL

Duties:

  • Represent financial institution clients in a variety of default servicing matters including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and replevin

  • Review and analyze loan documentation, financial records, and legal correspondence

  • Draft and file motions, pleadings, notices, and other legal documents

  • Prepare responses to motions, affirmative defenses, and counterclaims

  • Attend court hearings virtually and in person as necessary

  • Advise clients on legal issues and case strategy

  • Collaborate with legal and non-legal staff to ensure timely, compliant case management

  • Identify creative legal solutions for complex matters in a fast-paced setting

  • Provide oversight to support staff and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and client requirements

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of legal experience (foreclosure, bankruptcy, or creditors' rights preferred)

  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team structure

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume practice

  • Comfortable working with compliance-driven systems and procedures

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois (required)

  • Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional bar admissions is a plus

  • Federal court admission is beneficial but not required

Skills:
