Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established and dynamic law firm in Edwardsville, Illinois is actively seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be licensed in both Illinois and Missouri and will handle a broad range of legal matters in state and federal courts. The position offers exposure to various types of defense litigation including personal injury, workers’ compensation, insurance disputes, motor vehicle accidents, toxic torts, and product liability cases. Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload, with a focus on defense litigation in both Illinois and Missouri
• Prepare and conduct legal research and writing for case evaluations, motions, and legal memoranda
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and motion practice
• Conduct depositions and assist in trial preparation and strategy
• Develop and maintain client relationships and communicate case progress
• Participate in case management from inception to resolution, including settlement negotiations

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri
• 1-2 years of legal experience preferred (open to candidates with varied experience levels)
• Strong skills in legal research, writing, and case analysis
• Experience in defense litigation is a plus
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to the firm’s success
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar Membership in Illinois and Missouri required
