Job Overview
A well-established law firm is currently seeking an Energy A&D Associate with 3-6 years of experience (classes 2019-2022). The ideal candidate will have significant transactional experience in Energy Acquisitions and Divestitures, particularly within the upstream and midstream sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified professionals to join a dynamic and reputable law firm in either Houston or Dallas.

Duties

  • Lead and support energy-focused mergers and acquisitions transactions, including both upstream and midstream acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Provide strategic advice on energy transactions, due diligence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and negotiate acquisition agreements, financing documents, and other related materials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and teams to manage complex projects.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the transaction process.
  • Research and analyze legal issues related to energy transactions.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of transactional experience in Energy Acquisitions and Divestitures, especially upstream and midstream.
  • Strong understanding of energy law, industry regulations, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and work on high-profile transactions.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and client relationship management skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame).

Skills

  • Expertise in energy transactions, particularly A&D.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents related to M&A.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
