Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney specializing in Condominium and Homeowners Association (HOA) law to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work with condominium associations and homeowners associations on various legal matters. The ideal candidate will have strong legal knowledge, excellent academic credentials, and a passion for advocating on behalf of Associations.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Represent condominium associations and homeowners associations in legal matters related to governance, disputes, and general legal counsel.
  • Draft and review governing documents, including declarations, by-laws, and rules and regulations.
  • Advise clients on matters such as enforcement of rules, covenant enforcement, and interpretation of association documents.
  • Assist in resolving disputes between homeowners and associations through negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
  • Provide legal advice on issues related to property rights, land use, and zoning as they pertain to condominiums and HOAs.
  • Handle litigation matters, including lawsuits involving breach of contract, disputes over assessments, and other legal challenges.
  • Assist with the creation of new associations, including drafting organizational documents and advising on structure.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing high-quality legal counsel.

Requirements:

  • Excellent academic credentials and strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Prior experience in condominium and homeowners association law or a strong interest in this area of practice.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think critically and solve complex legal issues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the applicable state.

Certifications:

  • None required, though any relevant certifications in real estate, property law, or HOA law are a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of condominium and homeowners association law, including governing documents, enforcement, and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and provide clear, concise advice to clients.
  • Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and work well under pressure.
  • Strong negotiation and client relationship-building skills.
