Attorney - Litigation

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Attorney to join its Claim Litigation office in Sacramento, California. This hybrid role involves both in-office and virtual work arrangements. The successful candidate will manage case ownership, participate in litigation events, and engage with clients in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Handle litigation and legal assignments per Law Department guidelines.
• Prepare and summarize reports for proceedings.
• Develop trial strategies and manage case development.
• Attend litigation events, including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings.

Requirements

• 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, workers compensation, or as an Assistant Public Defender or State Attorney.
• Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law.
• Experience in trial, mediation, and depositions.
• First party claim experience preferred.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with electronic case files.

Education

• Active law license to practice in California.
• Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
