Duties:

  • Develop and present cogent and persuasive legal arguments, supported by comprehensive research.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage and handle own clients, providing legal advice and representation as needed.
  • Conduct legal research to stay abreast of developments in relevant areas of law and maintain a thorough understanding of applicable statutes, case law, and legal precedents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure seamless workflow and effective case management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the firm and its clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the Kansas State Bar.
  • Excellent legal writing skills demonstrated through submission of writing samples.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a willingness to undergo additional training as needed.
  • Experience managing clients or serving as lead counsel is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfort and proficiency in the use of technology and computers.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
