Job Overview:
A respected Saint Petersburg-based law firm is expanding and seeking a proactive Associate Attorney to handle a diverse caseload focused on civil litigation and estate planning. This is a growth-focused position offering remote flexibility, hands-on case ownership, leadership development, and a pathway to equity. Duties:

  • Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, draft estate planning documents, and manage legal correspondence

  • Represent clients confidently in negotiations, court proceedings, and legal strategy discussions

  • Maintain regular client communication and manage case timelines effectively

  • Attend and contribute to internal daily strategy meetings and monthly in-person firm sessions

  • Participate in professional and community-based networking groups to generate referrals and strengthen the firm's presence

  • Mentor staff and prepare for future leadership responsibilities as the firm grows

  • Pursue speaking engagements and legal writing opportunities to enhance visibility and industry recognition

  • Monitor and track billable and non-billable hours daily; delegate tasks to support staff where appropriate, and follow up to ensure completion

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

  • Based within or willing to commute monthly to the Tampa Bay region

  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in civil litigation

  • Strong decision-making skills based on legal research and sound judgment

  • Reliable ability to work from a home office with limited supervision

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar (in good standing)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and research capabilities

  • Strong interpersonal communication, especially with clients and teams

  • Independent work ethic with the ability to manage a dynamic schedule
