Tax Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Tax Associate to join its team in Los Angeles. The role involves working on complex domestic and international tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and global businesses.

Duties

• Advise businesses on corporate and cross-border issues during all stages of business transactions.
• Draft, explain, and finalize entity formation documents, including amendments and mergers.
• Handle complex tax matters such as international tax restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.
• Engage in cross-border tax structuring and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
• Contribute to business development activities, including writing articles and attending events.

Requirements

• Strong academic credentials (J.D. required; LL.M. is a plus).
• Approximately 2-4 years of relevant experience in a law firm's Tax group or as an associate at an accounting firm.
• California Bar membership required.
• Strong drafting, writing, research, and communication skills.
• Domestic experience required; international experience is a plus.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
• Attention to detail and a team player.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.
• LL.M. is a plus.

Certifications

• California Bar membership required.
