A law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is actively seeking an Associate Litigation Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively on complex general and business litigation matters, participating in all facets of litigation, from discovery and investigation to trial. The role involves drafting motions, pleadings, and briefs, defending clients during depositions, participating in court proceedings, and performing legal research. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of prior litigation experience, knowledge of the Indiana Rules of Trial Procedure and/or the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with a team on complex general and business litigation matters.
  • Participate in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, investigation, and trial.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with parties and clients.
  • Defend clients during depositions and conduct depositions of opposing parties and witnesses.
  • Participate in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Perform legal research to support case strategy and arguments.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice and in good standing with the State of Indiana.
  • 2-5 years of prior litigation experience.
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with the Indiana Rules of Trial Procedure and/or the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice and in good standing with the State of Indiana.

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Familiarity with litigation procedures and protocols.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
