Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney in Dayton, OH. The successful candidate will support and expand the workers' compensation defense practice, leveraging their expertise in civil litigation. This role requires strong communication skills and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Duties

  • Represent clients at administrative and court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Evaluate workers' compensation matters related to compensability, treatment, and disability.
  • Collaborate with clients, third-party administrators, and opposing counsel.
  • Communicate consistently with clients regarding the status of pending matters.
  • Provide legal counsel and risk assessment to clients.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis, draft briefs, motions, and other legal documents.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Ohio State Bar; additional state bar admissions are a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in civil litigation.
  • Experience in workers' compensation and/or insurance defense considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Ohio State Bar.
