Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Chicago, IL is looking for an Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience in litigation to join its team. The firm specializes in healthcare litigation and is seeking a motivated individual to handle a range of legal matters, collaborate with senior attorneys, and contribute to case preparation and strategy.

Duties:

  • Draft and review various legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing platforms such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
  • Assist in trial preparation by gathering evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating logistics.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases, attending client meetings to discuss strategy and case developments.
  • Maintain well-organized case files and ensure all legal procedures and deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a litigation-focused law firm environment.
  • Prior experience in health care litigation is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases at once.
  • Exceptional legal writing and drafting abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal research tools, such as Westlaw, and ability to apply research to case strategies.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the State of Illinois.

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal drafting and documentation with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with experience using legal research platforms.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and excellent time management.
