Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Attorney - EOIR in Humble, TX. This role offers a promising opportunity for an admitted attorney to join a reputable firm in the Houston area. The position involves managing a caseload, client interactions, and collaborating with a team of immigration professionals. This hybrid role requires in-person court appearances in Houston.

Duties

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at Immigration Court, USCIS, and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Prepare defensive immigration applications, including I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, SIJS, and PD requests.
  • Review immigration applications and USCIS filings, such as I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa.
  • Meet with clients to determine necessary strategy and provide analysis.
  • Manage a team of paralegals to meet customer service expectations.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements

  • No experience necessary; comprehensive training provided.
  • A team player open to strategizing and collaborating with associates.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.
  • Record of moving legal cases forward and ability to manage a caseload.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the United States.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
