A law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney for a hybrid role based in San Antonio, TX. This position involves primarily remote work with occasional in-person meetings. The attorney will represent clients in family-based immigration matters, including VAWA and non-VAWA petitions, while providing client-centered legal advocacy. Duties

  • Develop creative legal strategies for family-based immigration cases.
  • Represent clients in Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, I-130, VAWA, and I-601A waivers.
  • Prepare clients for USCIS interviews.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to manage expectations and provide guidance.
  • Prepare and submit legal documents for green cards, work permits, and travel permits.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants and fellow attorneys for case management.
  • Stay current on changes in immigration law.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing (state jurisdiction open, Texas preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in immigration law, focusing on family-based petitions and VAWA.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for hearings or firm-related needs.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar license in good standing.
