Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Houston, TX, is looking to hire an experienced First-Party Coverage Attorney to join its expanding team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in first-party property insurance, bad faith claims, and coverage litigation. Duties:

  • Handle first-party property insurance, bad faith, and coverage litigation matters.

  • Manage cases across both state and federal courts, from inception through resolution.

  • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, and motions.

  • Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and participate in trials.

  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring all aspects of coverage disputes are addressed.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

  • Demonstrate leadership potential by mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to team development.

Requirements:

  • Experience in first-party property insurance coverage and bad-faith litigation.

  • Strong litigation experience in both state and federal court systems.

  • Proven ability to draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex cases, including client interaction and case strategy.

  • Bar admission to Texas is required. Additional state bar memberships are a plus.

  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the state of Texas is required.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.

  • Strong case management and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.

  • Proficient with legal research tools and case management software.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
