Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney in Ocala, FL. The candidate will have a strong foundation in various legal areas, including estate planning, criminal, and family law. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients to provide comprehensive legal support and representation.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
  • Provide legal counsel in criminal, family law, and estate planning.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and litigation proceedings.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting clients' interests, particularly in environmental and tribal law.
  • Collaborate with the senior attorney on complex cases while managing a caseload independently.
  • Maintain organized records of all case-related documents and communications within the law office.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and a valid license to practice law in good standing.
  • Strong background in litigation with experience in negotiation preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting.
  • Familiarity with various areas of law, including criminal and family law.
  • Prior legal administrative experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • New attorneys with relevant internships or clinical experience are encouraged to apply.

Education
