A law firm seeks a seasoned Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana, with substantial experience in trademark and copyright matters. The ideal candidate will bring deep litigation expertise and a strategic mindset to support and lead complex IP disputes. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in intellectual property law who is looking to join a dynamic legal team focused on high-stakes litigation.

Duties

  • Lead and manage litigation matters related to trademark and copyright disputes
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
  • Represent clients in federal and state courts as well as before the USPTO and TTAB
  • Advise clients on IP enforcement, infringement issues, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams and clients to develop litigation strategies
  • Conduct depositions, trial preparation, and hearings as needed
  • Monitor and analyze changes in IP law and case developments relevant to ongoing cases

Requirements

  • 18 years of litigation experience, with a focus on intellectual property
  • Demonstrated success in managing and trying complex IP cases
  • Strong understanding of federal IP statutes and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be admitted to practice in Louisiana or eligible for admission

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • Admission to practice in Louisiana required
  • USPTO registration (preferred but not required)
