Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with experience in real estate, mortgage servicing, and civil litigation. The position focuses on contested matters involving residential property, foreclosure proceedings, and title-related disputes. This opportunity is ideally suited for legal professionals with strong advocacy skills who can manage a litigation caseload independently and travel as needed.

Duties:

  • Handle all stages of litigation related to mortgage servicing and property disputes

  • Provide legal analysis and strategic recommendations to clients

  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and motions for court filings

  • Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions

  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences

  • Manage pre-litigation matters and resolve title issues on residential real estate

  • Maintain accurate case files and meet billable hour expectations

  • Adapt to other responsibilities and assignments as required

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California

  • Minimum of 2-8 years of experience in litigation, ideally in the real estate or mortgage sectors

  • Ability to consistently meet billable targets (e.g., 1920 hours annually)

  • Willingness to travel throughout California as needed

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • California Bar membership in good standing

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting

  • Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and evidentiary rules

  • Knowledge of foreclosure processes and consumer protection statutes (e.g., FDCPA) preferred

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel

  • Effective in managing multiple priorities and high caseloads

  • Albuquerque, NM

  • Remote work permitted, with required travel across California
