Associate needed for Los Angeles office

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Santa Monica, CA is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 5–7 years of civil litigation experience to join its litigation practice group. This position provides the opportunity to work on high-profile commercial litigation matters, collaborate with experienced attorneys, and develop courtroom and case management skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Location:

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents

• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including trial preparation

• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop and execute case strategies

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing updates and managing expectations

• Perform additional duties to support the litigation team as needed

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of experience in civil litigation

• Admitted to practice and in good standing with the California State Bar

• Demonstrated experience handling complex litigation matters

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of California

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis

• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

• Trial or courtroom experience preferred

• Skilled in client communication and expectation management
