Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney for its Charlotte, NC office to focus on title and survey review and real estate due diligence for various transactions. The role involves managing and coordinating all aspects of title and survey review and real estate due diligence across diverse transactions.

Duties

  • Review and summarize exceptions in title commitments.
  • Identify and analyze title issues.
  • Finalize proformas and related endorsements.
  • Assist with flood due diligence coordination.
  • Collaborate with deal attorneys to develop solutions for title issues.
  • Work with title companies, borrower's counsel, and third parties to complete diligence.
  • Review commercial leases and prepare lease abstracts.
  • Analyze zoning reports and negotiate acceptable versions for closing.
  • Review commercial property purchase and sale agreements.
  • Negotiate with counterparties to finalize due diligence items.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior attorneys.
  • Manage timely completion of due diligence deliverables.

Requirements

  • At least six years of relevant experience in a large law firm or title company.
  • Hands-on and highly organized.
  • Capable of performing diligence directly and supervising a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing complex transactions.
