A law firm seeks a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to work on behalf of our client in Colorado. The successful candidate will join a busy practice defending and prosecuting a broad spectrum of civil disputes in both state and federal courts throughout the state.

Duties

  • Guide matters from intake through final resolution, including strategy development, discovery management, depositions, drafting motions, trial preparation, and settlement discussions

  • Prepare and review pleadings, requests for production, interrogatories, and other case documents

  • Oversee high-volume document review and coordinate complex discovery processes

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analyze precedents to shape case approaches

  • Advocate on behalf of clients in mediation sessions, settlement negotiations, court hearings, depositions, trials, and arbitration forums

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years’ cumulative experience in civil litigation, arbitration, domestic relations, appellate practice, or judicial clerkship

  • Proven ability to manage cases autonomously, from pre-filing analysis through trial advocacy

  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working within a team-oriented, collegial environment

  • Exceptional written advocacy and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering client-focused representation

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Colorado State Bar (or eligibility to secure admission promptly)

Skills

  • Strong case-management abilities, including organization of large document sets and coordination of discovery deadlines

  • Skilled in drafting persuasive legal documents, including motions, briefs, and discovery requests

  • Aptitude for deep legal research and strategic analysis of case law

  • Effective advocacy in various dispute-resolution settings (mediation, arbitration, trial)

  • Ability to build rapport with clients and opposing counsel to advance case objectives
