Job Overview
A growing plaintiff-side litigation firm is seeking an Attorney to join its New York City office. The position focuses on prosecuting complex consumer and employment class and representative actions involving wage and hour disputes, unfair business practices, discrimination, and false advertising claims. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated litigation matters against regional, national, and large corporate defendants in both state and federal courts.

Duties

• Manage plaintiff-side class action and complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle cases involving wage and hour, consumer protection, discrimination, and unfair business practice claims.
• Conduct and manage all phases of discovery.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
• Appear in state and federal court proceedings.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in hearings, oral arguments, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with litigation teams to develop case strategies and advance client objectives.
• Maintain communication with clients and provide updates regarding case developments.
• Travel as needed in connection with litigation matters.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience handling discovery, motion practice, court appearances, and depositions.
• Ability to manage complex litigation matters and competing deadlines.
• Experience with class actions, wage and hour litigation, or other complex litigation matters is preferred.
• Willingness to travel periodically as required.

Education and Certifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the State of New York.
